Reverend Jimmy Lewis

BURKEVILLE, May 30 – Pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church, recording artist and piano player for The Foundations Gospel Group, Reverend Jimmy Lewis was promoted to his eternal home after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 29, 2013; serving and witnessing until the very end.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 13 years, Karla; a stepbrother, Ted Lewis (Janice); a stepsister, Jeanne McPeak; mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Ramsey Norton; sister-in-law, Kelly Norton (Trey); four nieces, Wanda Langford (Ricky), Sharon McConville (Greg), Linda Loveday (Danny) and Andrea Kelly (J.D.); two nephews, W.G. Garrison (Anna) and Matthew Nor-ton plus numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Doyle Lewis.

Visitation will be held at Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home in Crewe on Saturday, June 1 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 2 at Union Grove Baptist Church, 2006 County Line Road in Keysville at 2 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Liberty Baptist Church, 4498 Bible Road, Crewe. After completion of the graveside service, all are invited to the Burkeville Fire Department Social Hall for food and fellowship with the family.
