The Farmville Town Council will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 6:30 pm in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall, located at 116 North Main Street, Farmville, VA for the purpose of hearing citizen comment(s) on the proposed amendments and enactments to the Farmville Ordinances as follows:

Amending –

Chapter 28, WATER, SEWER, AND SEWAGE DISPOSAL, Division 2 Connections and Charges; Section 28-55 Water connection charge and Section 28-156 Sewer connection charge – the amendments will increase the fees of residential and commercial taps; and

Chapter 8, CEMETERIES; Section 8-10 Grave digging charges – the amendments will increase the charges for digging of graves in Westview Cemetery; and

Enacting –

Chapter 25, TAXATION, Article XII. Cigarette Tax, Section 25-185 through Section 25-204, the ordinance will impose a tax rate of twenty-seven cents ($.27) for each twenty (20) cigarette or fractional part thereof, on each and every sale of cigarettes made in the town.
