FARMVILLE – Tuesday, June 11 at 7 p.m. is the deadline for Independent candidates to file to run in November's election.

State or local candidates.

And that includes anyone eyeing a run for the board of supervisors or, as with Buckingham County, for school board. Buckingham will see two special school board elections-in district four and seven-because of resignations by the incumbents.

The June deadline coincides with the statewide Democratic Primary. Absentee voting for the primary, which will confirm the nomination of Terry McAuliffe for governor and choose his Democratic running mates in the lieutenant governor and attorney general slots, began on April 26.

Voter registration for the November 5 election ends on October 15.
