April 11 – Happy Birthday wishes go out to Wanda Albrech, of New Canton celebrating on Saturday, April 13, and Hannah Sprouse, of Buckingham, celebrating on Wednesday, April 17.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, Danny Figgins and Bob Wilson, of Front Royal, Susie Taylor, of Dillwyn, Patricia Woodfin, of New Canton, and Elizabeth Cook and daughter Tina of Midlothian, all enjoyed an evening meal at a Dillwyn Restaurant on Sunday evening, April 7.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut-in.

Larry and Barbara Barone, of Cumberland, visited in the home of Pete and Annie May Miles in Dillwyn on Tuesday, April 9.

Congratulations to Billy and Marie Adams of Farmville. The couple will celebrate their wedding anniversary on Thursday, April 18.

Bea England, of Dillwyn along with Barbara Heifner also of Dillwyn, visited this week in the home of Agnes Ogle of Cumberland. She returned home recently after spending several days in the hospital. She is said to be well after dealing with some health issues as of this writing.

The 2013 Miles Family Reunion was held on Saturday, April 6 at a Midlothian Restaurant. A nice crowd enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.

Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church, located off of U.S. 15 North of Dillwyn in Arvonia, on State Route 672, will host a Gospel Sing on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. Featured will be the Singing Cokes and the Cooke Brothers from Kingsport, TN.

Spreading God's Gifts, Inc. is a local non-profit home grown faith based ministry organization that assists working individuals or families in need. Primarily serving Buckingham and surrounding counties.

On Saturday evening, April 13, from 6-8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Main Street Dillwyn, Spreading God's Gifts will host a benefit spaghetti dinner concert. The dinner will include: homemade spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, dessert and a drink. All for a donation. Southern Gospel Music will feature Smokey Wilson of Concord. There also will be door prizes given away. Funds resulting from this event will be held to help individuals and families in the hour of need. Advance reservations are not required but recommended in order to determine the amount of food needed for the evening. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

Arvonia Christian Fellowship Church cordially invites all to attend worship services each third Tuesday of the month from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at Heritage Hall Nursing Home of Dillwyn.
