PE Track Participates In Amherst Meet

The Prince Edward County Eagles took part in the Amherst Invitational Track meet last Saturday along with 24 other schools. The following individuals from PECHS placed in the meet. Marquis Fitzgerald won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.9 seconds. He also placed second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.3 seconds and third in the triple jump with a jump of 43 feet, six inches. At the Fork Union invitational, he ran a time that qualified him to participate in the Group AA state track meet. Pashion Banks placed fourth in the high jump with a jump of four feet, eight inches. She also placed sixth in the triple jump at 32 feet, nine inches. Lucia Davis placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 100 feet, five inches. Derek Robertson tied for seventh in the high jump at five feet, eight inches. Katrina Jones also placed ninth in the discus. Tanasia Miller placed ninth in the long jump. The boys team finished ninth out of twenty-five teams and the girls were 15th. Prince Edward will next run on Wednesday, May 1 at home against Brunswick and Park View at 3 p.m. at the PECHS Track/Soccer Complex.
