SOUTH DAKOTA, March 21 – Richard E. Moody Sr., 93, of White Lake, SD passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake. He was born on January 25, 1920 to Reuben Earl and Annie Lee (Fulton) Moody in Staunton. He graduated from high school and continued his education, earning a degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He then entered into the Army Air Force Signal Corps, serving during WWII.

On August 21, 1942 Mr. Moody was united in marriage to Harriet (Baxter) Simmons in Staunton. He went on to employment as an Electrical Engineer Designer with DuPont.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his two children, Ann Moody Wilkins and husband, Brian of Houston, TX and Thomas F. Moody and wife, Jan of Kingwood, TX; four grandchildren, Benjamin Moody of Platte, SD, Douglas and Priscilla Grasty of Houston, TX, Kelly Moody and Chantel Moody both of Kingwood, TX; two great-grandchildren, Victor C. Moody of Platte, SD and Paige Moody of Houston, TX; sister, Elizabeth “Ibby” Moody of Bridgewater; sister-in-law, Evelyn “Artie” Moody of Farmville; two nieces, Donna Moody Simpson and Terry Moody Avent; and a nephew, Jack Moody all of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet Moody, son, Richard E. Moody Jr., daughter-in-law, Mayta, parents, Reuben and Annie Moody, and brother, John “Jack” F. Moody.
