FEBRUARY 12 – Rosa Lee Hurt, 89, of Farmville, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013. She was born in Virginia to the late Rosa B. Hall and Alexander Duke on February 22, 1923.

She was married to the late Robert Lee Hurt; they had one child, Jimmy. Mrs. Hurt loved children and provided childcare for many happy years at The Little Red Schoolhouse In Farmville. She later worked at Fuqua School and Longwood University. She was a long time member of the Farmville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy and daughter-in-law, Pat of Farmville; grandson, Jamie Hurt (Tammy); two great-grandsons, Hunter and Austin Hurt of Chesterfield; four step-granddaughters, Jaime (Mark) Johnson and children of Salem, Melissa (Derek) Bulluck and children of Richmond, Mindy (Shane) Mizelle and children of Powhatan, and Jennifer Carpenter of Mechanicsville; niece, Tgay (Billy) Gordon and two great-nieces, Kerl and Kelly Gordon of Chesterfield.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 14, at 11 a.m. at Westview Cemetery, Farmville.
