Cumberland 4-H is partnering with Powhatan Extension to offer youth nine years of age and older a livestock club. Transportation will be provided to families for the meeting in March. The youth van will leave at 5:30 p.m. from the Extension Office. The 4-H Livestock and Poultry Club will meet the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room in the Powhatan Fire Administration Building, 3864 Old Buckingham Rd. (located behind Designs by Jo's Florist)
All youth and parents interested in showing livestock are welcome. Youth will learn about selection, care and feeding of livestock, animal health, and the importance of good record keeping. The focus will include sheep, goats, cattle and poultry. Youth do no need to own an animal to join the 4-H club.
