U.S. Churches Need To Wake Up

We hear talk intensifying every day about the fiscal cliff, but I am more concerned about the moral cliff into which America has fallen. As our political leaders attempt to come up with solutions to reverse the economic disaster that hangs over us, they are denying the one thing that is needed-a return to the One Who has blessed this country so abundantly. Building upon a cracked foundation will only lead to a house that will eventually fall, and America without the God of the Bible and the principles upon which this great land was founded will continue to spiral downward.
God, in His great love for us, has sounded the alarm to America over the past two decades. Yet we refuse to hear and, in fact, we have ridiculed and condemned those who even hint that any of the calamities we have faced in the recent past could be any kind of warning for our people.
The Church in America needs to wake up from her lethargy and complacency and blow the trumpet to declare the Truth, the Way, and the Life before our mouths are completely shut. If we do not begin to speak out, the “Silent Majority” may well become the “Muzzled Minority”! America needs repentance, not reform. America's survival may well be determined by our willingness to repair this cracked foundation (repentance), not on our attempt to erect beautiful marble walls on top of this crumbling foundation (reform).
God is the ultimate pro-Choicer, for He allows us to decide if we will follow Him or reject Him. Following Him brings blessings, but rejecting Him brings curses. Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to a test to show the people which god was true (check out 1 Kings 18). No contest-the God of the Bible proved to be true, and the people cried out that God is indeed Lord. May America cry out in that same voice-Jehovah God is indeed the true God and all other gods are man-made idols that will in the end fall.
