PUBLIC HEARING

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom at the Cumberland Courthouse in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Conditional Use Permit No. 11-06 Amendment, National Communication Towers, LLC – A request in accordance with Sec. 74-133 of the Cumberland County zoning ordinance to amend certain conditions of a conditional use permit which became effective April 1, 2012 allowing for a 195' telecommunications tower and related facilities. The request concerns the following property:

Tax Map 73, Section A, Parcel 58 with respect to approximately 10.000 acres. The affected property is owned by Fred W. & Julia M. Tipton and is located at the intersection of Cumberland Road (Route 45) and Holman Mill Road (Route 640). The affected property is zoned A-2, Agricultural and is the same lot containing Tipton's Midway Grocery. The parcel is not within a growth area as designated by the Comprehensive Plan and is located in Election District 4. Amended conditions propose an extension to time limits of construction and amendment to language relating to height of antennae.

Copies of the complete text of the amended conditional use permit request, proposed conditions and associated plan are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia and may be inspected between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
