MEHERRIN, January 22 – Mark Albert Hammock, 53, of Meherrin, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Farmville. He was born on July 4, 1959 in Fairfax County, to Betty Ferguson Hammock and the late William A. Hammock.

Mr. Hammock was retired from Powhatan Correctional Center. He loved the outdoors; his hobbies were hunting, fishing and drag racing.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Belinda Townsend Hammock; his children, who he deeply loved and was proud of, Clinton (Kelly) and twins, Dillon and Shannon; mother, Betty Hammock; brother, Timmy Hammock (Carolyn); and sister, Teri Childers (Phillip). He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Hammock and sister, Anne Green.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 22, (tonight) from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home.
