BUCKINGHAM, January 3 – Louise Jeanette Booth Rye, 84, of Buckingham, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her home. She was born August 19, 1928 in Bland County to the late Thomas and Clara Booth.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Arthur Rye Jr.; two daughters, Rita R. Galjan of Virginia Beach, and Linda R. Sheckart of Florida; sister, Anna Jane Patterson of Roanoke; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Eugene Rye and sister, Florence Witt.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Union Facility of the Antioch-Union Baptist Church in Buckingham.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Antioch-Union Baptist Church.
