BUCKINGHAM, January 31 – Elizabeth Garrett Love, of Buckingham, born June 7, 1922 in Asheville, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at her daughter's home in Buckingham at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Joseph Franklin Love Jr. They were married on July 31, 1940.

Mrs. Love was the daughter of William Browning and Grace Bell Garrett of Asheville, NC. She was one of five sisters, Eloise, Dorothy, Anne and Wilma.

Her life of faith began at the age of nine when she was baptized at Bethesda Methodist Church in Asheville, NC where her grandfather, A.J. Bell, was a lay minister. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school.

Mrs. Love was a mail carrier for the Buckingham Post Office for many years. She was an antique dealer for over 50 years. What started out as a hobby became a successful business that took her to locations throughout North Carolina and Virginia where she became known as the “Blue Willow Lady” which refers to the pattern of fine china she sold as an antique dealer.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately knew her as “mamaw”.

Mrs. Love is survived by two children, Gary Joe Love and wife, Christine of Buckingham and Rosemary Love Booker and husband, Malcolm A. Booker Jr. of Gladstone; grandchildren, Chuck Love and wife, Dede, Christy Christian and husband, Mark, Stephanie Midkiff and Marty Allen, Jennifer Love and husband, Rondall Powers, David Love and wife, Stacy, Mandi Galloway and husband, John, Craig Love, Jennifer Williams and husband, Sam, Rochelle Clabough and husband, Casey, Malcolm Booker III and wife, Rebecca, Sarah Booker, Coleman Booker and Peter Booker; great-grandchildren, Garrett Love, Rachel Christian, Leslie Christian, Thomas Midkiff, Burns Powers, Elizabeth Love, Emma Love, David Love Jr., Joe Love, James Galloway, Joe Galloway, Braden Williams, Sydney Williams, Malcolm Booker IV, Annah Olivia Booker, Robert Booker, Catherine Booker and Elizabeth Rose Booker.

Her youngest son, Steven Craig Love preceded her in death, his wife, June Love, still resides in Charlotte County.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, served the family.
