Sailor's Creek Battlefield Historic State Park is hosting its first annual Education Awards Program Saturday, Dec. 15, from 4-5 p.m. at the park's Visitor Center Participants in the park's year-long 2012 program of 25 history education events should turn in their attendance passport booklets to the Visitor Center no later than Dec, 10 for review and award determination.

As announced in January 2012, participants who have attended a minimum of 12 programs throughout the calendar year will be awarded special prizes (based on the number of program stamps in the booklet).

Light refreshments will be served.

The park's education mission for 2013 is being expanded to include environmental education programs to complement a schedule of ACW history and cultural education programs and events.
