DECEMBER 11 – Robin Paul Dickson, 56, died suddenly on Friday, December 7, 2012 in Farmville.
A graduate of Cox High School, Virginia Beach, he joined the Navy where he was photographer and film instructor for ten years stationed primarily in Pensacola. Since leaving the Navy he worked at CBN as a feature editor for the 700 Club, as a vid-eo production editor in Pensacola, Georgia, and Alabama and at NASA Langley Research Center. Most recently he has been self-employed as a bass and guitar teacher, photographer, sound and recording engineer, and musician (and a volunteer at church).
Locally he played music with LeGrand Jazz, Tray Eppes, bobfloorjunior, and as a regular at Crute Stage and the 202 Bar and Grill open mics.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kelsey Dickson; stepson, Justin Daniel Chilton; father, Paul Dickson and wife, Judith of Pensacola; brothers, Dennis Dickson and wife, Pam of Princeton, Texas and Stephen Dickson and wife, Mary of Pensacola; sister, Teresa Dickson Sansted and husband, Scott of Plantation, Florida; daughters, Rachel Odell and Heather McCormack of New Hampshire; nieces, Brandie, Brittney, Stephanie and Kristen and nephews, Will and Ryan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Stannard Dickson.
Memorial services were held December 10 at Farmville Presbyterian Church.
