PROSPECT, December 27 – Pallie Berry McMillan, 79, Prospect, died peacefully December 25, 2012 at her home. She is the widow of Retired Army Sergeant First Class William L. McMillan, Sr.

The most important person in her life was her husband, who she affectionately called Bill. They were married for over 49 years. She was born on March 29, 1933 in Prince Edward County to the late Ding and Martha Berry.

Mrs. McMillan accepted the Lord at an early age. She was a devout Christian and was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church before moving to Prospect, where she became a member of Concord Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, William Lee McMillan Jr. and Kent Michael McMillan and wife, Claudia, all of Prospect; brother, William Berry and wife, Anne of Hampden-Sydney; two granddaughters, Sarah McMillan King and husband, Andrew of Charleston, SC and Laura McMillan of Virginia Beach; two great-grandsons, Sullivan Ryan King and Brooks Monroe King, both of Charleston, SC; sisters-in-law, Ann Seay and Ruby McMillan; brother-in-law, Joe McMillan, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held on 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Swift Creek Baptist Church 18510 Branders Bridge Rd., Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, led by the Rev. Steve Felker and assisted by the Rev. Rick Caldwell, with burial to follow at Dale Memorial Park.
