NORTH CAROLINA, December 27 – James Raymond Miller, 86, of Kannapolis, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Big Elm Nursing Center. He was born on December 10,1926 in New York, New York to the late Frank and Mary Kramer Miller. He worked many years at Longwood College in Farmville. He enjoyed golfing and being outdoors and was always busy, working with his hands.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller is preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis H. Gaddy, brothers, Charlie and Frank Miller and sisters, Pearl Bub, Florence Hilton and Marie Hudson.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia M. Miller; son, Michael Hallinen and wife, Nancy; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date.
