November 29 – “We must always have old memories and young hopes.”

Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Justus and Jacob of Damascus spent Thursday through Saturday with her mother, Mrs. Hilda Allen celebrating Thanksgiving.

On Nov. 18 Mr. and Mrs. Lon Stockton Jr. and Sean treated his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton to lunch at the Golden Corral in Lynchburg. They were celebrating Margaret's birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kelsey entertained their children and their families, and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Early of Chesterfield on Thanksgiving.

Hardy Kelsey and his mother, Peggy Kelsey, were guests at Salisbury County Club in Midlothian Thanksgiving Day. 'They were joined by other family members from Richmond and Chesterfield. On Monday, Phil Kelsey and grandson, Bryson Philander came to Farmville to visit other relatives.

On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith and daughter Brianna visited with his mother, Mrs. Pat Smith.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Richmond on Monday for a medical appointment. Before returning home they enjoyed lunch out and went Christmas shopping.

On Thursday, Mrs. Pat Smith hosted a luncheon for her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Keaveny of Unionville and her daughter, Mrs. Emma Sharpe of Arvonia.

Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted a dinner party. Invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hertzler, Mr. and Mrs. Marv Fisher and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lapp.

Mrs. Flora Bolt and Chace Davis was dinner guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas (Betty Jean) Bolt and Stacy for Thanksgiving.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Richardson enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving with her sister and brother in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noblin.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindy Hamlett enjoyed having their family home for Thanksgiving.

Mr. and Mrs. Averett Simpson and Mrs. Ruth K. Simpson enjoyed Thanksgiving in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Simpson and family.

Mrs. Sue Amos spent the week of Nov.11-18 in Pamplin with her grandson, Travis Newcomb while his parents were away.

Mr. and Mrs. William Amos and Jason Covington were Thanksgiving day guest of Vicki Johns at Amelia.

Thanksgiving Day found Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton entertaining Mr. and Mrs. Lon Stockton, Jr. and Sean.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows traveled to Richmond on Thanksgiving to celebrate Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Andy Shotwell, Josh, Zack and Kate. Also joining them were Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Shotwell.

The Rev. and Mrs. Jeff Jones and son Matthew and daughter Christiana of Grove City, PA, arrived Nov. 17 to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with family and friends in Virginia, departing the following Saturday. On Thanksgiving Day they joined Mrs. Joyce Slayton, Brandy, Bryon, Amanda and her friend Matt for dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard DeLeo of Arroyo Grande, CA, arrived Nov. 24 and will be visiting Joyce Slayton and family through Nov. 29.

Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher, and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Hayes were lunch guest of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fulcher on Thanksgiving Day.

Neighbors, family and friends are praying for a speedy recovery for those that are sick at this time; Roger Scruggs, Shirley Fulcher, and Wanda Whitus.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Ms. Rachel Jenkins a student at Union Seminary will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Elaine Bowen will bring the message on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
