November 6 – Election Day, please remember to vote; be sure to bring your voter card, these were received in October or your drivers permit.
The Prospect Historical Society will meet on Monday, Nov. 5, this is a change of day, at 6 p.m. The Society will have their “Election Day” stew for sale on Nov. 6. The price this year is $5 a quart. They will also have beautiful sweatshirts and T-shirts along with note cards, tote bags and matted pictures for sale.
These would make great Christmas presents.
The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary's next supper is Saturday, Nov. 17, from 5-7 p.m. The “Pig Pick'n” menu will include roasted pulled pork, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, hush puppies, rolls, tea, lemonade, coffee and dessert, all for a donation.
Peggy Kelsey is always glad to get a text message from her son, Philander, when he arrives in Shanghai, China. His company, Amsino, has plants there. He later sent an e-mail explaining the trip.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Southall recently visited her brother, Charles Johnson at Fairfax. He was a patient at the local hospital. It was Lois and Charles's birthday, the twins were born on their mother's birthday. Charles went home the day after Gene and Lois's visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith received an invitation to tour the Grand Opening of Centra Pace last Thursday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith attended the Comedy and Dessert Event sponsored by the Pregnancy Support Center held at New Life on Saturday evening.
Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith had lunch in Richmond prior to attending the viewing for Paul Jamerson's mother. Mr. Jamerson was raised in Buckingham County.
Donald Meadows accompanied his mother, Betty Meadows to Richmond on Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Flora Bolt visited Cindy Hedrick in Rice on Sunday afternoon.
Neighbors, family and friends are praying for a speedy recovery for those that are sick at this time; Eloise Tucker, Jean Derrenbacker of Richmond, Wanda Whitus and Dennis Leonard of Jetersville.
Friends and neighbors are extending their heartfelt sympathy to the families of Mrs. Evelyn Moore Coleman, Miss Taylor Reeves and Alec England.
Flowers placed in the sanctuary last Sunday at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church were in memory of Mrs. Faye Mottley. A bench was also dedicated in her memory.
Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.
The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Robert “Bob” Hall will be in the pulpit on Sunday.
Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
