Editor, The Herald:
To the Prince Edward Community: the United Way of Prince Edward County has launched our annual campaign with the goal of raising $40,000 to support our local community. We are honored to support eighteen local agencies that provide a multitude of vital services to our community, from feeding the elderly to educating our youth.
They include Camp Loud and Clear, Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association, Farmville Area Community Emergency Services (FACES), Riding Star 4-H Horse and Pony Club, Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity, SCOPE/Meals on Wheels, Farmville Area Boy Scout Service Organization, Southside Pregnancy Center, Farmville Service Unit Girl Scouts, Southside SPCA, Heartland Horse Heroes, Southside Virginia Family YMCA, Jolly Glee Senior Citizens Club, STEPS, Madeline's House/Southside Center for Violence Prevention, Tri-County Life Learners, Prince Edward County 4-H Club, and the VA Legal Aid Society.
With your help, we hope not only to meet our campaign goal but also to increase the dollar amount each agency receives as they work to fulfill their mission. To learn more about the agencies our United Way serves, please go to our website at http://uwprinceedward.org/.
It's easy to donate! Just visit our website to access our new online option and click the orange “Give” button. Or you can send your donation to The United Way of Prince Edward County, P.O. Box 122, Farmville, VA 23901. All donations are tax deductible and go directly back into our community to help make Prince Edward County a better place in which to live and work.
By working together, we can help a multitude of worthy causes. Please join us in donating so that we all can make this year's campaign a great success and LIVE UNITED as a community.
