DILLWYN, October 4 – Margaret Gwendolyn “Gwen” Mowbray Besendorfer, 69, of Dillwyn, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012. She was born July 21, 1943 in Harrisonburg to the late Aubrey and Beulah Campbell Mowbray.

She is survived by her husband, Hans Besendorfer of Dillwyn; three daughters, Sunny Katz of Alexandria, Heidi Caldwell of Meridian, ID and Christina Besendorfer of Pennlaird; three sisters, Betty Hopkins of Greenville, SC, Shirley Hammer of Elkton, and Earlene Jones of Albuquerque, NM; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Hans Besendorfer Jr. and Erich Besendorfer.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, October 7, at Browns Chapel United Methodist Church, Dillwyn.
