DILLWYN, October 9 – Janie Mae Jamerson Newton Kromer, 91, of Dillwyn, died Thursday, October 4, 2012. She was born in Buckingham on November 22, 1920 to the late Duree and Carrie Jamerson. She was the widow of Luther L. Newton Sr. and Earl Kromer.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara G. Hurlbrink of Dillwyn; son, Linwood S. Newton of Vail, CO; stepchildren, Linda and Eddie Kromer; sister, Gladys Absher of Dillwyn; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, L.L. Newton Jr.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 9, at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham County Rescue Squad or the Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Department.
