CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS PUBLIC HEARING

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 7:00PM, or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom at the Cumberland Courthouse in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:

Conditional Use Permit No. 12-02, National Communication Towers, LLC – A request in accordance with Sec. 74-143 of the Cumberland County zoning ordinance to grant a conditional use permit to allow for a “telecommunications tower and related facilities.” The Board of Supervisors will also review conditions for the proposed use. The telecommunications tower is proposed to be 195 feet in height. The request concerns the following property:

Tax Map 29-A-100A. The affected property is owned by Douglas L. Martin Jr. & Priscilla Ann Curran, located at 37 Jenkins Ridge Road, Cartersville VA 23027, approximately 1/8th mile west of the intersection of Jenkins Ridge Road (Rt 697) and Cartersville Road (Rt 45). The affected property is zoned A-2, Agricultural, is not within a growth area as designated by the Comprehensive Plan and is in Election District 1. The proposed tower would be on an approximately 125 foot by 125 foot lease area of the property.

Copies of the conditional use permit request, proposed conditions and associated plan are available for public review at the office of the Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm M-F. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
