Twin Lakes State Park announces the following events: Sept. 28, “Family Game Night” – 6-7 p.m., board games, card games, puzzles and more; “Make New Friends Campfire” 8-9 p.m. – make new friends at the park, sing songs, hear stories, and enjoy s'mores; Sept. 29, “Buggin Out” 10-11 a.m. – bug around the park and learn about some crazy critters; “Canoeing 101” 10 a.m. – noon – start with the basics, fee for the program is $5 per person, $4 per person for groups of 4+; “Crafty Campers” 2-3 p.. – get crafty at the Nature Nook, fee $2 per person; $6 per family; National Public Lands Day Clean-up Event, 2-3 p.m. – in celebration of National Public Lands Day join a park wide cleanup initiative, call the Main Office for more info; “Up, Down, and all Around” 3-4 p.m. – learn how to navigate using maps and compasses; “Plant ID Hike” 5-6 p.m. a hike around Dogwood Hollow Trail to discover some of the park's diverse plant life; Sept. 30, “Geocaching 101” 11 a.m. – noon – new way to treasure hunt, $3 per person, $8 per family; “Guided Beaver Hike” 2-3 p.m. – a guided beaver hike along our newly renovate Otter's Patty Trail; “Gone to the Dogs” 304 p.m. – bring dogs out for a hike around the lake, dogs must be on leashes, (only pups who play well with other pups) “Mutt Mits” and doggy treats will be provided.
