Twin Lakes State Park announces the following weekend events:
Friday, August 24, 4 p.m. “Geocaching 101” – new way to treasure hunt, $3 per person, $8 per family; 6 p.m. “Family Game Night” – board games, card games, puzzles and more; 8 p.m. “Make Friends Campfire” – make new friends at the park, sing songs, hear a few stories, and enjoy some s'mores;
Saturday, August 25 – 11 a.m. “Guided Hike” – a guided hike around one of the trails at Twin Lakes State Park; 2 p.m. “Crafty Campers” – crafty at the Nature Nook; fee: $2 per person; $6 per family; 3 p.m. “Over Your Head” – learn how to make a lean-to out of simple materials found in the woods; 7 p.m. “Campfire Cooking” – try your hand at making simple and delicious campfire recipes;
Sunday, August 26, 11 a.m. “Canoeing 101” – start with the basic, fee for the program is $5 per person, $4 per person for groups of 4+; 1 p.m. “Gone to the Dogs” – bring the dogs out for a fun and educational hike around the lake, dogs must be on leashes (only pups who play well with other pups) “Mut Mits” and doggy treats provided; 2 p.m. “Creature Feature” – learn about one of our park's many amazing creatures; 3 p.m. “Plant ID Hike” – a hike around Dogwood Hollow Trail to discover some of the park's diverse plant life.
