PE Track Teams Finish Third At Southside Meet

EMPORIA – Brunswick County High School and Greensville County High School won the Southside District Boys and Girls Track Meets respectively last Wednesday afternoon at Greensville High School.
Prince Edward County High School placed third in both competitions.
Individually for the Eagles, Tyrek Goode won the Shot Put with a Southside District Meet record of 51 feet, 1.25 inches. He was also third in the Discus.
Isiah Davis was first in the Discus with a SSD Meet record of 114 feet, four inches. He placed sixth in the Shot Put.
Rashaad Walton was first in the 100m Dash at 10.94 seconds, and first in the 200m. He was also second in the Long Jump and third in the Triple Jump.
Marquis Fitzgerald was sixth in the 110 Hurdles and Triple Jump. Elias Jones was fourth in the 1600 Meter and third in the 3200 Meter Runs.
The boys 4×100 Relay team placed fourth. The relay members were Tequan Banks, Fitzgerald, Walter Christmas, and Walton.
Daron Harvey was fifth in the 300m Hurdles. Christmas was sixth in the 300m Hurdles. The 4×800 relay team of Steve Garlarza, Alexander Hurt, Harvey, And Dante Bowles placed third.
The Prince Edward girls team was led by Pashion Banks, who was first in the Long Jump, third in the Triple Jump and sixth in the 100m Hurdles.
The girls 4×100 Meter Relay team of Banks, De-Lantra Nash, Lucia Davis, and Eunity Woodard placed first.
Ajavious Watkins was third in the Shot Put and sixth in the Discus. Delantra Nash was second in the 100 Meters and 200 Meters. Lucia Davis was second in the Discus and sixth in the Shot Put and 100 Meters.
Katrina Jones was fifth in the Discus.
The Region I meet was scheduled to take place on May 24 Culpeper High School.
Walton has already qualified to the Group AA State Meet in the 100m, 200m, Long Jump, and Triple Jump. Goode has qualified in the Shot Put. Davis has qualified in the Discus.
The State meet will be held June 1-2 at Harrisonburg High School.
