MAY 15 – Mary Taylor Atkins, 101, formerly of Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012. She was born in Whittle's Depot near Gretna on July 20, 1910. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a member of Liberty Christian Church in Green Bay.

Mrs. Atkins is survived by two daughters, Joyce A. Nunnally of Meherrin and Janice A. Mottley and husband, Robert of Burkeville; four grandchildren, Graham Nunnally and wife, Linda, Richard Nunnally and wife, Rhonda, Lisa Mottley Burns and husband, Eric and Bobby Mottley and wife, Melissa; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnie R. Atkins after 66 years of marriage.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 15 in the Liberty Christian Church, Green Bay, with interment in the church cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery Fund, Meherrin Volunteer Fire and Rescue, or Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department.

The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of arrangements.
