Editor, The Herald:

On Tuesday, May 8, I experienced a medical problem and called 911. The Cumberland Rescue Squad was not available so the Cartersville Rescue Squad was asked to respond. They were dealing with an overload of call for traffic accidents and I was told there would be a delay due to those calls and lack of available squad members. However, the wait was not long. They transported me to Southside with apologies as there was no time to take me to the ER of my choice. That worked out well for my problem.

I want to extend many thanks to all the squad members and especially Bernie and Tommy. I was very impressed with their professional, competent and compassionate care. Their service to citizens of Cumberland County is deeply appreciated.
