Carolyn Turner Jamison, 87

ROANOKE, May 29 – Carolyn Turner Jamison, 87, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012. She joins her beloved husband of 66 years, Chris Hall Jamison, and her loving parents, Henry and Dot Turner, in her new heavenly home.
Born June 10, 1924 in Roanoke, Mrs. Jamison attended Andrew Lewis High School and Mary Washington College. She was an active member of Cave Spring Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union, serving as its president. She was Superintendent of Vacation Bible School for many years, played the piano for children's Sunday school classes, played hand bells, and sang in the church choir. She was an avid gardener, loved music, and also worked as an accountant for several years at Toler Printing in Roanoke.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters and their families, Candy and Chuck Dowdy of Farmville, Cindy and Jerry Fulks of LaGrange, GA, and Lynn and John Yates of Roanoke; grandchildren, Hollace Dowdy, Chris Dowdy and wife, Katherine, Jamie Fulks Almand and husband, Matt, Clay Fulks and wife, Jenny, and Julia and Caroline Rigby; great-grandchildren, Sumner, Witten, and Woods Dowdy, Wells and Mary Clayton Almand, and Jackson Fulks; and sister, Doris Haynes.
Her daughters appreciate the years she dedicated to making a home for them and later caring for her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her quick smile and helpful ways.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to her special caregivers at The Pheasant Ridge in Roanoke and The Woodland in Farmville.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 23 at the funeral home.
