William Basil Bruce III, 66

WISCONSIN, April 5 – William Basil Bruce III, 66, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 in St. Joseph's Hospital after fighting cancer for 10 years. He was raised in Farmville and graduated from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson.

Following high school he served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Forrestal during the Vietnam era. He received a pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago and a nursing degree from Northcentral Technical College, Wausau. He worked his whole career as a pharmacist in various stores throughout central Wisconsin. He volunteered in his spare time doing painting projects for his church, Oak Hill Academy and the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum.

He is survived by a sister, Margaret Rothwell Wray and husband of Savanah, GA; aunt, Nancye B. Noel of Farmville; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Davidson Bruce and father, William Basil Bruce Jr, both of Farmville.

A memorial service was held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Stevens Point, WI.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 14 at 2 p.m. with burial in the family cemetery plot in Westview Cemetery, Farmville.
