Kyle Gwynn Knott Sr., 77

APRIL 24 – Kyle Gwynn Knott Sr., 77, of Farmville, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Charlotte County to the late Johnny and Louise Harvey Knott.
He graduated from Buckingham County High School in 1953 and joined the army to serve his country. He pulled a tour in Germany and came home and married his love, Jane Evans in 1969.
Mr. Knott was owner and operator of Knott Chevron, where he worked for 35 years. His son, Kyle Knott Jr., joined him in the 1990's. He retired in 1999 and spent most of his time golfing, gardening and mowing grass. His favorite pastime was riding his grandchildren around in his golf cart.
He is survived by his wife, Jane and their son, Kyle Jr. (Tammy); three grandchildren, Kayla, Kassidy and Kaleb, all of Farmville; three sisters, Barbara Davis of Hopewell, Sandra Perdue of Lynchburg and Libby Collins of Virginia Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Melvin and Glen and a sister, Karon Hill.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 22, in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home, with burial at Midway Baptist Church, Phenix.
