BUCKINGHAM – The Toga Community Benefit Committee is sponsoring a night of “31” Bingo at the Toga Firehouse, Friday, April 6. Tickets will be available at the door for $20. Bingo starts at 7 p.m. Food and beverages will be available.
Proceeds will go to the Toga Community Benefit Fund for its on-going mission of neighbor helping neighbor. The Toga Firehouse is located on Route 24.
Maysville Baptist Church is hosting a free movie night, featuring The Grace Card, on Friday, April 6. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the movie begins at 6:30. And, yes, popcorn is included.
Everyone is invited. Maysville Baptist Church is located on Route 60 in Buckingham Court House.
Woodland United Methodist Church is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m.
Along with the spaghetti, the menu includes salad, bread and homemade desserts.
Following the meal, join in the fellowship with the sounds of bluegrass/gospel music by the James River Cut-ups, from Shipman.
Donations will go toward the new flooring in the fellowship hall. Woodland UMC is located off Route 56 on Woodland Church Road, Rt. 604.
On Saturday, April 7, the NFL Club of Cumberland is sponsoring a car wash for the Citizens in Action and the Dillwyn Curves Divas, two teams with the Relay for Life-Buckingham.
The carwash will be held at Advance Auto in Dillwyn from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
You'll be able to get your vehicle professionally detailed inside and out for a donation of any amount. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
Centenary United Methodist Church will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7, beginning at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the hunt.

On Saturday, April 7, the Dillwyn Department of the Buckingham Chamber of Commerce is having its annual pre-Easter Bake Sale at Farmer's Foods in Dillwyn from 9 a.m. until all those delicious baked goods are gone.
Proceeds will be used toward the on-going Dillwyn Clean-Up and Beautification effort.
On Saturday, April 7, beginning at 10 a.m., the Arvonia Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual spring auction at the firehouse.
The inventory includes lots of miscellaneous items-new and used. The list offers tools, furniture, books, lamps, toys, boxes w/contents, and some antiques.
Because the sale will be held inside, don't worry about the weather. And, yes, food and beverages will be available.
Cedar Baptist Church, located at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, invites everyone to an Easter play, NOT GUILTY, on Good Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m., and/or on Easter morning..
“Come and see a different Easter play but not a different Jesus,” invited a spokesperson. “You will see how the Jesus who was there then is still here in our everyday lives-He is still the same today.”
Easter morning services at Cedar Baptist will start with Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast at 7 a.m., and the worship service at 8 a.m., which will include a repeat performance NOT GUILTY.
Cedar Baptist is also hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at the church on Saturday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many fun activities are planned and lunch will be provided.
Browns Chapel United Methodist Church is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7, 10 a.m., at the church. Children of all ages are welcome. Following the egg hunting, a light lunch will be provided.
Browns Chapel UMC is located on Route 617, Gravel Hill Road.
Arvon Baptist Church invites you to join with the congregation for its Easter Cantata featuring music by Casting Crowns performed by the Arvon Baptist Church Choir.
The cantata will be presented on Good Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m.; and on Easter Sunday, April 8, at the 11 a.m. worship service.

First Baptist Church of Dillwyn will host a Holy Week service on Good Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m.
The First Baptist Choir will present the Easter musical O What a Saviour.
Everyone is invited to join with First Baptist for this solemn and joyful occasion worshipping the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
White Hall United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church, of Dillwyn, are joining together for an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 8, at 6:30 a.m., in the Dillwyn Cemetery. Everyone is invited.
Maysville Presbyterian Church will start its Easter celebration with a covered dish brunch at 10 a.m., followed by an egg hunt.
The Easter worship service will begin at 11:15 and will include the flowering of the cross and special music by the choir. All are welcome.
White Hall United Methodist Church Choir will be presenting an Easter Cantata on Sunday, April 8, at 5 p.m.
Everyone is invited for this special time of worship and praise. White Hall UMC is located in the residential area of Main Street in Dillwyn.
The Auxiliary for the Toga Volunteer Fire Department will be at Burger King in Farmville on Wednesday, April 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. for a fundraiser to benefit the auxiliary.
Burger King will donate a portion of the profits taken in during that timeframe to the Toga Auxiliary.
Ellis Acres Boosters will meet on Thursday, April 12, at 7 p.m., in the conference room of the community building at Ellis Acres Memorial Park. All boosters and those who would like to become boosters are encouraged to attend.
Please note that Mourners Valley Baptist Church will not have a sunrise service this Easter.
On Friday, April 13, Mourners Valley is hosting a free movie night featuring the movie Courageous. Doors open at 6 p.m. and everyone is invited.
On Sunday April 15, at 3 p.m., the church will celebrate the fourth pastoral anniversary of the Reverend Charles E. Simms.
Dr. Earl Pendleton, Associate Minister of Mount Zion First African Baptist Church will be the guest preacher and his choir and ushers will accompany him.
Dinner will be served following the morning worship service, at approximately 1:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Mourners Valley Baptist Church is located on Route 20, at at 5341 South Constitution Route.

On Saturday, May 12, the Buckingham Lions Club, which hosts Buckingham County Day, is partnering with Dillwyn to celebrate the town's centennial anniversary. So, rather than its usual location behind BCHS, Buckingham County Day will take place in the Town of Dillwyn.
Although vendors and displays will be open at 9 a.m., the celebration will officially start with a parade at 10 a.m. The theme for the parade, which is being handled by the 100th Anniversary Committee, is Come Home to Dillwyn.
The daylong festival will include arts and crafts, vendors, activities for children and youth, educational and informational exhibits and displays, food, and music.
The covered pavilion at Ellis Acres Memorial Park will be the venue for great music and entertainment. Free shuttle bus service will be available throughout the day from parking areas to mid-town and Ellis Acres.
