March 8 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Mae Rutherford, of Cumberland, Margy King Smith, of The Woodlands in Farmville, Berta Childress, of Phenix, Annie May Wharam of New Canton, all celebrating on Friday, March 9, and Elaine Myers, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Sunday, March 12.

Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.

Linda Miles visited in the home of Junior and Nancy Midriff in Cumberland on Friday afternoon, March 2.

Congratulations to our dear friends in Christ Paul and Frances Asal of Farmville. The couple has been married 66 years on Thursday, March 8.

Barry Miles, of Cumberland, along with His cousin Cherly Canipe, of Richmond, and Jane Cooke, of Brookneal, enjoyed an afternoon meal at a Richmond Restaurant on Friday, March 2.

Rene Marion and daughter Cheyenne of Cumberland visited in the home of Pete and Annie may Miles in Dillwyn on Wednesday afternoon, March 7.

Reminder: Eastern Standard Time ends and Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 14 at 2 a.m. Remember to set your clock ahead (spring forward) one hour before going to bed on Saturday Night March 10.

Maranatha Baptist Church, located on Tuggle Rd., in Farmville, will host Winter/Spring Revival Sunday, March 18-Wednesday, March 21, Sunday, March 18, Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. with special music to follow at 11 a.m. with guitarist Greg Miller from Bethlehem Baptist Church Dillwyn.

The Sunday evening service begins at 6 p.m. and feature special music by 16 year old Holly Cook of Powhatan.

The Monday, March 19 service begins at 7 p.m. and includes special music from pianoist Cody Moss of First Baptist Church in Dillwyn.

The Tuesday, March 20, service starts at 7 p.m. pianist and soloist Donna Pike, of Belfast Baptist Church of Crewe, will perform.

The Wednesday, March 21 service begins at 7 p.m. and features special music from guitarist and soloist Clarence Walter of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Powhatan.

The guest speaker for the revival will be John Shelley, of Stuart, Virginia from the “Rock of Ages Ministry.”

Pastor Steve Conwell and the congregation cordially invite all to attend and come expecting great things in and from the Lord.
