GLEN ALLEN, March 15 -Irene B. Logan died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at her residence in Glen Allen. She was born July 28, 1913, in Buckingham County, to William C. and Mary Ann West Brown. She was married to the late Garnett F. Logan Sr.

A member of Slate River Baptist Church since age nine, she was active in many organizations of the church and in the community, until illness forced her to move to the Richmond area.

An educator for 35 years in Orange, Fluvanna and Buckingham counties, Mrs. Logan received her education through Buckingham Public School System, St. Paul's and Virginia State Colleges, and the University of Virginia.

She is survived by a son, Garnett F. Logan Jr., daughter-in-law, Lucy Logan, and granddaughter, Danielle Logan, all of Glen Allen.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 17, at Slate River Baptist Church in Dillwyn, with interment in the church cemetery.

Reid's Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
