February 9 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent to Sherry Midkiff Scott, of Cumberland, and Willie Bowles, of Burkeville, celebrating on Friday, February 17; Wayne Lipscomb, of Cumberland, celebrating on Sunday, February 19; Frances Murphy, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Wednesday, February 22; and Will Cloud (son to pastor Cameron and Lynn Cloud of Cumberland) and Gail Thomas of New Canton, celebrating on Thursday, February 23.

Our thoughts and prayers go out this week to those who are sick and shut-in.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland and Darlene Christian, of New Canton, enjoyed an evening of Bluegrass, and Bluegrass Gospel Music at the Woodman of the World Building in Appomattox on Saturday evening, February 11. Featured were Dixie Ridge and the Heather Berry and Toney Maybe Show. A large crowd enjoyed a great time.

Darlene Christian, of New Canton, spent Saturday and Sunday February 11 and 12 with her sister Betty Guthrie, in Appomattox. They had a wonderful time together.

Pete and Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, visited in the home of Tommy Jo (T.J.) and Stephanie Waycaster and their three children in Powhatan on Monday, February 13.

Barry and Linda Miles and Timmy Wallace and Florence Benton of Dillwyn had breakfast at an Appomattox Restaurant on Sunday morning February 12. They also enjoyed great Bluegrass Gospel music on Sunday afternoon at Appomattox Courty High School Auditorium. Featured were Dixie Ridge and Bobby Osborne and Rocky Top X-Press.

Thought for the Day: God's Eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will be sponsoring a one-day bus trip to the Gaither Homecoming 2012 to the Richmond Coliseum on Friday evening April 27.
