CUMBERLAND – The new Board of Supervisors in Cumberland agreed to set several work sessions with the different groups that work to assist the Board with making decisions for the County during its meeting last month.
At the request of the School Board, the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and the Planning Commission, the Supervisors have set times to meet with all of those groups to discuss ongoing activities and ways to work together in the future.
The Board will first hold a joint work session with the School Board to discuss the upcoming 2012-2013 budget. That meeting is set for Thursday, February 16 at 7 p.m. in the Middle School Media Center.
The next meeting will be with Cumberland's IDA. That meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21 at 9 a.m. in the Old Clerk's Office. At that meeting the Supervisors and IDA members are set to discuss ongoing and future projects and activities.
The Planning Commission will also meet with the Supervisors in a joint work session on Tuesday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m.
This meeting will be held in the Conference Room C-8 at the Cumberland County Community Center where both groups will discuss schedules and planning for the required update to the County's Comprehensive Plan this year.
Although all of these special meetings are open to the public, there will not be a designated time for public comment.
The Supervisors will also start working through the 2012-2013 fiscal year budget for the County during two scheduled work sessions this week with the County's administration staff.
The first special meeting was set for Tuesday (today). The second budget work session is scheduled for Thursday starting at 1 p.m. for closed session for the purpose of county administrator applicant interviews, followed by an open session for budget discussions.
The meeting will be held in County Administration conference room.
