January 26 – “It takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow.”

The upcoming play at the Waterworks Theater is Back to Maine to take place Friday and Saturday Feb. 10-11 and 17-18. Make your plans now to go; the Waterwork Players do an excellent job with all their productions.

Peggy Kelsey and her guest, granddaughter Debra Sue Shumaker attended the Pre-Game Reception January 18 at Kirby Field House. It was sponsored by The Hampden-Sydney Club of Southside Virginia.

Recently Red Wooten, Judy and Ray Wooten, and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Southall ate breakfast after midnight at the Huddle House in Farmville. After some time of catching up on the news they patrolled the town and saw Henry Fulcher going to work early at WFLO. Red Wooten wants to do it again when it snows.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows traveled to Lynchburg on Monday to visit Mrs. Pat Goff and Mrs. Frances Dusser.

Taylor Fulcher a student at Liberty University celebrated her birthday last Thursday at Dickie's BBQ with her family Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fulcher, Emily and Jonathan Fulcher, Mrs. Shirley Fulcher and Mrs. Mary Hayes.

Mrs. Shirley Richardson celebrated her birthday on Saturday a day early in Lynchburg at O'Charlies with her husband Henry and family members Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noblin. She was surprised when her brother Tom and wife Pat, and sister Ruth of Prince George County came in to help her celebrate.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows visited Mrs. Cecelia Culler Jan. 18 at UVA hospital in Charlottesville.

Mr. and Mrs. George Moore Jr. joined Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton, Sr. at Merk's Place Jan. 20 for supper. The fellowship and food was very good.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. This being the fifth Sunday there will only be Sunday School.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
