Lillian Shelton Terrell

MINERAL, Jan. 3 – Lillian Shelton Terrell, born on March 18, 1922 to Frederick and Mae Payne Shelton, of Mineral, was called by her Maker on Friday, December 30, 2011.

She was a graduate of Mineral High School and Ferrum Jr. College, class of 1942. Mrs. Terrell retired in 1983 as a supervisor for the Buckingham Social Services Dept. She was a member of the Maysville Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder. She was a Den Mother with the Buckingham County Cub Scouts and a steady and faithful worker in her community; a loving mother and Grandma and a talented knitter, baker, floral arranger and always very fashionable. We love her and miss her greatly.

Mrs. Terrell is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, William Winfrey Layne Terrell Sr.; three devoted children and their spouses, Mary Lou and Joe B. Earhart of Colonial Heights, William Winfrey Layne Terrell Jr. and wife, Jana of Lynchburg, and Martha Terrell Hebert and husband, John of Chester; grandchildren, Ian and Hannah Terrell, Graham and Kara Terrell, J. B., William and Clay Earhart, Karla Reichard, and Ashley Hebert; and great-grandson, Kaleb Creasy.

Funeral services were held at Tuesday, January 3 at Maysville Presbyterian Church, Buckingham, with interment in Louisa County at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, was in charge of arrangements.
