CUMBERLAND, Jan. 3 – Johnny Roosevelt Black, 78, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 in Richmond. He was born February 11, 1933 in Candler, North Carolina to the late Nathan Jerome and Leona Pike Black. Mr. Black served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter.

He is survived by a sister, Celia Johnson of Richmond and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 5, at 1 p.m. at Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA 23002.
