James Jared “Jimmy” Huddleston, 91

JANUARY 24 – James Jared “Jimmy” Huddleston, 91, of Farmville, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his home. He was the son of the late Thomas R. and Mildred Simmons Huddleston and was an employee of Ayers Building Supply. He was also a member of Gideon International and a life-long member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Huddleston is survived by his wife, Louise Coates Huddleston; son, Lawrence R. Huddleston (Janice); and daughter, Linda H. Librandi (Ray) all of Farmville; three sisters, Louvinnia Corr, Hazel Olson and Helen Price; brother, Thomas A. Huddleston; five grandchildren, Janet Petticord, Donald “Donnie” Bales, Becky Ward, Carol Bales, and Thomas “Cody” Huddleston; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two step-daughters, Melinda Wordeman (Steve) of Florence, KY and Kathy Cormier (Jay) of Pilot Mountain, NC; two step-sons, Anthony Owen (Meriam) of Kernersville, NC and Jonathan Owen of Jarrat; thirteen step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Shoemaker Huddleston, daughter, Dorothy Bales, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 21 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with interment in the church cemetery.
