JANUARY 24 – James Herman Parrish, “River Rat”, 70, of Farmville, formerly of Chula, and Charleston, West Virginia, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Herman Parrish and Cada Renick Parrish.

He is survived by a son, James Robert Parrish and a daughter, Libby Ballinger, both of Jetersville, two grandchildren, Janet Marie Rogers and Isabelle Hope Wilson, and a brother, Byron Russell Parrish and wife, Joan of Ashburn.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 21 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, Amelia, with burial in the Westview Cemetery, Farmville.
