APPOMATTOX, Jan. 31 – Helen Huskey Harris, 74, of Appomattox, was called into God's Kingdom on Sunday, January 29, 2012 after a long five years struggle with kidney failure. She was the wife of the late Pete F. Harris.

She was born on November 2, 1937 in Concord, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Lloyd H. and Mary Etta Dunn Huskey.

Mrs. Harris was a lifetime member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Buckingham County, and retired from American General Insurance Co. (Home Beneficial).

She is survived by two brothers, Wayne Huskey (Gail) of Buckingham and Steven Huskey of Richmond and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 1 at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, Jan. 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home.
