NEW CANTON, Jan. 10 – David Wayne Hudgins, 53, of New Canton, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 in a Charlottesville hospital. He was the son of the late Woodrow Willis “Jerry” Hudgins and Lillian Lucille Stinson Hudgins.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Edwards Hudgins; his three daughters, Amy H. Chisholm of New Canton, Holly H. Capelli of Richmond and Ashley N. Hudgins of New Canton; three stepchildren, Sarah N. Hurt of Buckingham, Stacey M. Bryant and Stephen M. Bryant both of New Canton; two sisters, Patty Montgomery and Eva Thorpe; and brother, Paul Hudgins, all of Richmond, and ten grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, New Canton, with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
