December 1 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Dylan Cloud, son of Rev. Cameron and Lynn Cloud of Cumberland celebrating on Saturday, December 3, Daniel Morris of Dillwyn and Toney Clifton, of Appomattox, celebrating on Monday, December 5, Dorris Allen, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Tuesday, December 6, and Joyce Duncan, of Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Dillwyn, celebrating on Wednesday, December 9.

A large crowd packed the fellowship hall for a Thanksgiving feast at Browns Chapel United Methodist Church in Dillwyn on Wednesday evening, November 23. Everyone enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.

Happy Anniversary wishes go out this week to Toney and Joyce Clifton of Appomattox. They will celebrate Monday, December 5.

Spreading God's Gifts Inc. of Buckingham would like to thank area groups, businesses, organizations, churches, individuals and gospel groups for helping make the dinner concert on Saturday, November 19 a tremendous success. Over $2,000 and counting was raised. Crystal Martin of Dillwyn won a $250 Wal-Mart gift card; Dillon Mattney, of Dillwyn, won a $100 gift card and Linda Shifflet of Dillwyn, won a $50 gift card.

Sympathy is extended to the LeSueur family of Dillwyn. Wilford Conrad LeSueur, 94, of Dillwyn, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19. A funeral service was held November 22, at Cedar Baptist Church in Dillwyn. He will be greatly missed by all.

The 2011 Annual Family Thanksgiving Feast was held on Sunday, November 27 in the home of James and Virginia Boyles in Cumberland. A large crowd attended with lots of good food and a special time of fellowship with family and friends.

Spreading God's Gifts Inc. is a local non-profit organization that helps individuals with many needs is conducting a drawing on Friday evening, December 23 at 7 p.m. at Taylor's Convenience of Dillwyn. Tickets are available for a $1 donation. The top prize is a hand made throw cover made and donated by Katie Taylor of Dillwyn, the second place prize is a hand painted portrait done and donated by Nan Shows Pet Portraits of Buckingham and the third place prize is a $40 gift certificate donated by Pino's Italian Restaurant in Dillwyn.
