POQUOSON, Dec. 20 – Stuart Maynard Thomas, 87, of Poquoson, entered his eternal home on Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Poquoson.

Mr. Thomas was born in Buckingham County, October 22, 1924 to the late Stuart Everette and Lottie Pearl Ayres Thomas. He was a U S Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and was retired after more than fifty years as a crane operator.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Mae Dunkum Thomas of Poquoson; daughter, Marcia Denise Thomas of Houston, Texas; brothers, Bernard W. Thomas of Hayes, Raymond H. Thomas of Dillwyn, Julian A. Thomas of Richmond and Linwood M. Thomas of Chesterfield and sisters, Louise T. Dunkum of Mechanicsville and Shirley T. Wooton of Dillwyn.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 19, in the chapel of the Dunkum Funeral Home of Dillwyn. Interment followed in Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
