NORTH CAROLINA, Dec. 20 – Robert E. (Bob) McGahey, 84, died Friday, December 16, 2011 in Highpoint, North Carolina. He was a member of a Pennsylvania Masonic Lodge and manager of the former J.J. Newberry Store in Farmville.

He organized Dixie Boys Little League Baseball in Farmville, loved working with youngsters and was truly fond of animals.

Mr. McGahey is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna K. McGahey of Farmville; niece, Barbara Aumiller and husband, Bob of Chesterfield, MO; and nephew, Jim VanFleet and wife, Mary of Westerville, OH.

Contributions may be made to the SPCA or a favorite charity.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in North Carolina.
