CUMBERLAND, Dec. 20 – Robert C. Wilson Jr., 75, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 in Farmville. He was born in Johnson City, TN to the late Robert Wilson Sr. and Gertrude Smith Wilson.

He was retired from the Department of Corrections after 37 years of service. He also served as a member of the National Guard. Mr. Wilson had a great love of nature and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was married to the late Geraldine E.Wilson.

He is survived by a son, Robert C. Wilson III (Lisa) of Cleveland, NC; two daughters, Janet W. Bishop of Richmond and Deborah A. Scurti (Frank) of Virginia Beach; brothers, Ronald R. Wilson (Lucy) and Riley N. Wilson (Lisa) both of Cumberland; two sisters, Ann Farlow (Ken) of Zephyrhills, FL and Jo Muehleib (Bill) of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Ashley Newman, Samantha Moore, Grace and Nick Scurti and Abigail Wilson and four great-grandchildren, Meghan, Taylor, Scottie Jr. and Nathan. He also leaves behind a special friend, Margarette Wilkerson.

A funeral service was held in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home on Monday, December 19, with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.
