PECHS Grad Named Top Entrepreneur

RICHMOND – Prince Edward County High School graduate Moses Foster has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (VMSDC).

The son of Prince Edward County residents Moses Weldon Foster, Sr. and Alma Foster is President and CEO of West Cary Group, an award-winning marketing communications and advertising agency headquartered in Richmond.

“I am thrilled to receive this honor,” said the Virginia Tech graduate. “At West Cary Group, we believe diversity fuels creativity and produces consistently superior results. It's exciting to see that tenet validated.”

Entrepreneur of the Year is presented to the leader of a VMSDC-certified minority-owned business that provides superior products or services to clients, drives an increase in both number of employees and revenue and demonstrates the capability for continued growth. Candidates are also evaluated based on their business relationships with other minority business entrepreneurs and their community involvement.”

The VMSDC comprises 275 minority business enterprises and 103 corporate members, including MWV, Capital One, Genworth Financial, Owens & Minor and Dominion Resources, all five or which are West Cary Group clients, states a press release announcing the honor.

“This is a tremendous award,” said Foster, who received the award during ceremonies at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, “and I see even more opportunities ahead for West Cary Group. We're pushing the boundaries of how to deliver impactful integrated marketing solutions, particularly in digital channels like social media, mobile and web.

“If we continue to drive innovative solutions,” the PECHS grad continued, “I have no doubt West Cary Group will achieve even greater success for the agency and for our clients.”

Foster founded West Cary Group in 2007 and the firm specializes in brand marketing, digital media, direct response marketing and employee communications.

The VMSDC is a division of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, one of the nation's leading business membership organizations. Its mission is to increase supplier diversity by linking member corporations to minority business enterprises in order to foster profitable business relationships.
