Mrs. Wanda Hamlett and two of her grandchildren, Ben Agee and Mrs. Kelly Redford celebrated their birthdays on Friday with a Pizza Party. Their birthdays were Nov. 6.

Mrs. Wanda Hamlett, Mrs. Sally Mottley and Mrs. Lynn East motored to Lynchburg on Sunday where they enjoyed visiting and having lunch with Wanda and Sally's two sisters, Maude Craddock and Evelyn McCormick.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey has returned home after visiting her daughter, Karen Aimesbury and family of Dover, New Hampshire. Peggy was able to visit her granddaughter, Abby, at The Institute of Fine Arts at Manchester during her visit. Peggy was greeted by an unexpected snow storm causing her flight home to be cancelled and her getting an extra day with her family.

On Oct. 27 Garland Woodson and Ann Parker motored to Myrtle Beach, SC, where Ann visited her daughter, Cindy Thompson while Garland visited an old navy buddy, Jim Walazah. He also attended an antique car show. They returned home on Sunday following a very enjoyable visit.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Meadows were joined by Mr. and Mrs. George Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton on Monday for breakfast and fellowship at Merk's Place.

Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher attended a “Benefit Stew” at the Toga Fire Department on Saturday.

Sunday the 6 of November Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher, Mr. and Mrs. John Mottley, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mottley traveled on the Blue Ridge Parkway enjoying the scenery.

Ms. Sue Amos and Ms. Vickie Johns of Amelia have returned home after a trip to Wichita, KS. They were taking Ms. Johns' aunt Marian back to Wichita. While there they visited other relatives in Oklahoma City, OK. They traveled over 3500 miles stopping in Pigeon Forge, TN, on their way home. They did some sightseeing, shopping, and enjoyed a show. They traveled Virginia, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

Mrs. Flora Bolt and Mrs. Sandy Ridgely did a little touring on Wednesday (12) afternoon in Appomattox. They had lunch at the Babcock House and took a tour through the Historic Village and enjoyed dessert and coffee at “Baines, Books and Coffee on Main Street Appomattox.

Mrs. Flora Bolt rode to church with son Steve Bolt this past Sunday; after services Steve visited with his cousin John Wallace Woodson from Richmond. Flora had lunch with her son Dale and his wife Judy. Also visiting were their children Jennifer Bolt and Chris and his wife Melissa Bolt, and Page Johnson and June Warriner.

Mrs. Betty Meadows and her sister, Mrs. Evelyn Trinkle traveled to Goode on Tuesday to visit Mrs. Lora Ryan and family. They enjoyed an afternoon of shopping with Evelyn's grandchildren Carol and Nicki Ryan.

Recently Mr. and Mrs. William Amos enjoyed a ten-day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean Islands.

Friday night Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Bolt and Joshua spent the night with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vince Eikmeier in Richmond. Saturday they went to the special event “Hunt for Henrico History”. Kyle represented a World War II soldier, where he displayed his wares, have a talk and answered questions about the global war that changed the face of our nation and the world forever. Linda Eikmeier portrayed, Estelle Palmore, whose father, John Clark, purchased property in Eastern Henrico County in 1855, adding a second story to the house situated there. The event was held at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center.

Flora Bolt was a guest of Sharon Troyer on Saturday night. They attended a banquet sponsored by the Mennonite churches in this area. The food was delicious. It was held at the Concord Baptist Church gym near Sheppard's. It featured the “Gospel Echoes Team”. This is a gospel group that ministers to and “Shares Christ in Prison”. We enjoyed the gospel music and the wonderful testimonies.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time. William “Bill” Amos reports he is doing great since his knee replacement surgery in July.

Family and friends are expressing their sincere sympathy to Mr. and Dr. Lon Stockton, Jr. and Sean on the death of her brother, Jon Marc Creaney of Scotland this past Sunday. He will be greatly missed by family and all those that knew and loved him.
