Editor, The Herald:

This letter is in response to an e-mail Mr. Gerald Spates received from an individual stating they thought it was an asinine idea for our Town employees to receive a one-time bonus. Our Town employees do an excellent job and they are kind and courteous and very accommodating to our needs. They deserve every penny and more of this bonus.

Maybe this individual would like to try and perform some of their dirty jobs and then decide if they thought it was an asinine idea!

All I can say is 'Hats off to you Mr. Spates' for standing up for what we all should have thought was the right thing to do.'
